ā€œFall in love with the process and the results will come.ā€ ā€“ Eric ā€œETā€ Thomas

*Side Note: Eric Thomas is an American motivational speaker with a PhD from Michigan State a link to his website is included; the ā€˜Aboutā€™ section tells his story (https://etinspires.com/meeteric)Ā

Being a former collegiate student athlete requires a level of dedication that can seem foreign to most people, let alone other students. Arriving at 4:50am for 5:15am morning weights, from there straight to class from 8:30am to 2:30pm, straight back to pre-practice meetings and treatment 3:00pm ā€“ 4:00pm, straight into practice 4:10pm ā€“ 6:00pm, any post-practice duties, more treatment, home by 7:00pm, eat, homework, sleep and repeatā€¦repeat. It took me until the spring camp before my senior season of college football playing for the NCAAā€™s Division 2 Fort Lewis College Skyhawks, that I realized what Eric Thomas meant by his quote. In the game of football you will practice, at least, FIVE times as much you will ever play and that five is a very low estimate. All that practice, that is what I am considering ā€˜the processā€™ and I think in education, just as in football, a trueĀ educator must fall in love with the process. The process in education is the life-long learning an educator subscribes to. A educator must be continually willing to tackle new questions, take on new challenges and try to be a person that other people will want to learn from.
