Above is a link to the BC Curriculum. As a future educator in this province I am very thankful the curriculum is as in-depth as it is. I know we are always supposed to use these different sources and things of that nature during assignments but most times the curriculum website provides a wealth of knowledge and if nothing else it provides a starting point for research. It walks educators or anyone who wants to examine BC’s educational resource through the curriculum in a very easy to navigate manor. This new curriculum lends its’ hand to an inquiry style of learning and educating. It has went completely away from the traditional style of education and provides educators with an open door for new teaching styles. These new styles work much better with students. It encourages engagement and no longer lays out strict guidelines that only allow for traditional styles of education. It provokes critical thinking from students and teachers, allowing for both to bring real-world experience into the classroom and learn from it. Finally, it ties in First People’s principles of learning as we work hard towards truth and reconciliation.
